Reed Hughes, DVM

After graduating from Hamilton High Big Blue in 1982, I performed my undergraduate studies at Miami University from 1982-1986 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Zoology.

I graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and have been in private practice ever since.

After practicing in Indiana and the Tidewater region of Virginia for 6 years, I returned to my hometown and established Brookside Animal Hospital in 1996.

Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy cycling, hiking, gardening, kayaking, playing guitar and table-top role playing games with friends.

Kristy Schulte, RVT

I have been a registered Veterinary Technician since 2005. I graduated from University of Cincinnati Raymond Walters College, and have been a part of the team at Brookside Animal Hospital since 2002. I am married, have two children, and a Great Dane named Roman.

Jessie Boyd

I am a mother of two boys and a lover of all animals, and have many fur-family members who are also my babies. I enjoy rehabilitating orphaned and injured wildlife through a non-profit rescue called Nature Nurses, and I specialize in baby squirrels.

Michelle Hughes

I have been around Brookside Animal Hospital for several years doing things behind the scenes, and now I am also working in house with the staff. We have 4 grown children, 1 sweet grandbaby, a beautiful Belgian Sheepdog named Shiva, and 8 Australorp hens. I enjoy weightlifting, cycling, hiking and I am also a personal trainer.

Kylee

I have been working at Brookside as an assistant since 2020. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Findlay. My goal is to become a mixed animal veterinarian, focusing on livestock and small animals.  I have several pets, including two dogs, two horses, a cat, and nine dwarf goats.

Ashley

I have been with Brookside for over 11 years. It gives me the opportunity to do what I love most - helping others.  In my free time, I enjoy cooking and chasing my toddler."

Dr. Stephanie Breslin

I graduated in 1990 from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. I began my career practicing equine medicine in California. Upon returning to Ohio, I have been doing small animal medicine and surgery exclusively. Since my patients cannot talk, I enjoy the challenging nature of veterinary medicine trying to put all of the pieces together. My hobbies include cycling, as I am a national champion cyclist. I have 5 dogs and 2 cats.
